VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Friends have many volunteer opportunities suited to anyone’s desires or abilities.  You can . . .

• work in our beautiful bookstore located in the library
• work in our warehouse office listing books for sale on the  internet
• work in our booth at various community events
• help move books from our bookstore to the warehouse
• help with one of our many special events at the library

If you are interested in volunteering with the Friends group, give us a call at our bookstore (245-7265) and ask to leave a message for our Volunteer Coordinator.  Or, better yet, come on in to our bookstore and get an application.

Areas we need your help. 

• Help with our Book Sales
• Move Books
• Have pickup truck available to help move books
• Help at “Special Events” (concerts, dinners and movies)
• Internet book sales (must attend special training)
• Monitor Displays at the library or other locations
• Work at the FOSCL bookstore in the library (must attend special training)
• Print forms for our Events Committee chairperson
• Pass out literature to businesses/schools
• Telephone calls/member of “telephone tree”
• Solicitation of funds/membership in FOSCL
• Talk to groups about the library’s or FOSCL’s activities/programs
• Photography
• General office work
• Donate supplies as needed (post-it notes; pens/pencils; scratch pads, etc.)
• Make signs/banners
• Assist with Newsletter mailings (4 times per year)

Friends of the Redding Library

WISH LIST

In an effort to allot more of our fundraising monies directly to the library for books and programs, we are asking if our members could help provide us with some of our day-to-day necessities. Following is a list of items that we use all the time and wonder if some of you might be willing to supply us with some of these items:

And, of course, a special donation would always welcome for some of our “big ticket” items, such as library carts, and tables for our book sales.
